Tamales Recipe You’ve Never Tried

Tamales are a common dish in Mexican cuisine and of course, their base is corn. In this version we add gelatin, without losing the typical flavor or leaving out the corn. These gelatamales are easy to make, can be enjoyed with the family and will give a different touch to February 2nd.

Select all ingredients
4 cups water, (1 liter)
3 cups evaporated milk
2 1/2 cups condensed milk
2 cups tender corn
1 envelope of Gelatina D´Gari, walnut flavor® (120 g)
1 envelope of Gelatina D´Gari, pistachio flavor® (120 g)
1 envelope of Gelatina D´Gari, strawberry flavor from leche® (120 g)
enough leaves for tamale
strawberries, chopped
walnuts, to decorate
strawberries, to decorate

Preparation
Heat the water with the milk in a pot over medium heat evaporated milk, condensed milk and corn. Cook for 10 minutes. Let it cool, blend and divide the previous mixture into 3 equal parts, that is, in 3 containers.
In one of the containers, dissolve the D’ Gari® gelatin walnut flavor; in another, the D’ Gari® gelatin pistachio flavor, and in the third, the D’ Gari® gelatin strawberry milk flavor. Mix thoroughly and let the mixtures cool. Do not let it gel completely, it should have a gummy texture.
Place 2 tablespoons of each mixture on the tamale leaves; in the strawberry one, add pieces of strawberry and in the walnut one, add chopped walnut and wrap. Refrigerate for 30 minutes, or until set.
Decorate the tamales with strawberries and walnuts. Accompany with the drink of your choice.
